چکیده
Seeds are valuable sources of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, fibers, minerals, and vitamins. They provide energy nutrition to germinating seedlings, food humans, feed livestock, feedstocks industry. High-throughput analyses gene expression in crops has identified many candidate genes associated with seed dormancy, longevity, germination, vigor. In this review, we cover the latest research focusing on such key traits. Transcriptome time courses filling have sets expressed at different stages process. The potential role epigenetics (including seed–endosperm imprinted genes) regulating development chemistry is highlighted herein. We also discuss how advances genomics biology facilitating unravelling associations between traits bank accessions sequences, including functional can accelerate discovery allelic variants. Such knowledge effects relating variants necessary for more efficient cost-effective management genetic resources or redesigning specific characteristics. For instance, curators may assess viability by monitoring changes biomarker dry samples decide germplasm regeneration integrity collections diversity allele frequencies same accession stored banks. highlight that resistance preharvest sprouting be enhanced through genomics-assisted breeding otherwise nondormant rice (Oryza sativa L.) wheat (Triticum aestivum cultivars, while pimt, another marker deployed enhance vigor crops.

Advances in Chia Seed Research
Chia (Salvia hispanica L.) is an edible seed that comes from an annual herbaceous plant, Salvia hispanica L. of mint family (Lamiaceae) (Figure 1). The shape of Chia seed is oval with 1 to 2mm in size, which may be black, grey or black spotted to white in colour. Chia means strength and the tiny seeds have been used as energy booster. Chia seeds can be used in the form of whole seeds, mucilage,...
متن کاملGenomic dissection of the seed
Seeds play an integral role in the global food supply and account for more than 70% of the calories that we consume on a daily basis. To meet the demands of an increasing population, scientists are turning to seed genomics research to find new and innovative ways to increase food production. Seed genomics is evolving rapidly, and the information produced from seed genomics research has exploded...

متن کاملSesame seed food allergy.
The number of reports regarding sesame seed food allergy (SFA) has increased significantly worldwide over the past two decades, either due to a genuine increase in SFA or merely an increase in its awareness. Its prevalence is difficult to estimate due to the lack of well designed prospective population-based studies. Based on the available data, we estimate that SFA affects 0.1-0.2 % of the pop...
متن کاملClimate change impacts on crop yield, crop water productivity and food security – A review
This paper provides a comprehensive review of literature related to the assessment of climate change impacts on crop productivity using climate, water and crop yield models. The existing studies present that climate change models with higher spatial resolution can be a way forward for future climate projections. Meanwhile, stochastic projections of more than one climate model are necessary for ...
